Many students in our school have general music twice a week for forty- five minutes each period. Fourth grade students attend music in 30 minute blocks.

The general music program at Kings Glen Elementary School serves over 550 students. We provide classroom instruction based on the Fairfax County Program of Studies. Assessment of students is based on six overarching objectives:

• singing
• listening
• music reading
• playing instruments
• improvisation
• movement

  Choruses, extracurricular activities, include a fifth and sixth grade chorus, elementary choral festival for sixth grade students, and grade level, class or small group performances for student assemblies and our community.
