Strings Mrs. Loucks

The strings program at Kings Glen is open to all students in grades 4 &endash;6. Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced instruction is offered on violin, viola, cello and bass. Students may begin a stringed instrument in any grade. We have just under 200 students in the strings program here at Kings Glen!

The Kings Glen Orchestras perform two concerts per school year. Our next concert will be held on May 28 at 7 p.m. It will feature the Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Orchestras as well as soloists and small ensembles. Students at the Intermediate and Advanced level may choose to audition for the Area Orchestra, a select group of musicians from several area elementary schools. This year 10 of our students were accepted into the Greater Burke Area Orchestra and received a Superior rating at the District Orchestra Festival.

Look for strings students to be performing at various school events during the year. We have even been known to hold impromptu performances in the hallway!
